From iPhone to Android

I have had an iPhone since the very first one came out in America. I remember having to get my dad to buy it for me when he went down to the states and having to unlock it when he brought it back. Since then I have upgraded my iPhone every year. The latest iPhone, the iPhone 4 is an amazing piece of hardware. Great build quality, great design, and an amazing battery life. Yet for some reason i was starting to get sick of it. This is because of all the restrictions that the iOS has. I wanted to customize my experience on my phone, but unfortunately this wasn't possible. So about a week ago I did something a little crazy...I sold my iPhone and bought my very first android device.

The android device I chose to go with is the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. I chose this device for a couple of reasons. First off, I knew I had to stick with a rogers device since I was still on a contract. Secondly, the screen. This device has a gorgeous 4inch Super AMOLED screen. It may not have the same pixel density of the iPhone 4, but it makes up for it with its amazing contrast ratio and brightness.

Alright so now its time for some pros and cons of switching from the iPhone 4 to the Samsung Captivate.
Pros - customizable home screens, much brighter screen, no restriction on apps, ability to download apps from places other than marketplace, ability to change default apps.
Cons - Battery life is nowhere near as good as the iphone 4 but it still lasts the day, not as many apps as App store, lack of quality games.

Overall I am very happy with my move to android, but who knows what will happen when the iphone 5 comes out.

Welcome

Welcome to my first personal blog. I've had a couple of blogs before this one, but none of them have really been personal. On this blog I will mostly be talking about things that interest me. This includes software, hardware, general internet related stuff and maybe some other random geeky things. If you have any questions just post a comment under this post.
